In the late 1960s the Bare family purchased a parcel of land off of Highway 29 just north of the small town of China Grove in Rowan County NC. The family then built a 2,500 square brick building on that plot with the intensions of selling a quality products to the community. Winfred Bare ran the store, with his son Bill, until his retirement. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the business went through a period of expansion. The store grew, adding over 7,500 sqft of showroom, and over 6000 sqft of warehouse space. In November 2012, when Bill was ready to retire, he sold the company to long time employee and friend, Michelle Pawlak. She now runs the store with her husband Jim and two sons, Nik and Tyler, carrying on the traditions and practices started by the Bare family.
